Oakville Air Conditioner Installation and Repair
Prices & Rebates: Carrier, Lennox & Goodman
We have a price list of all the AC models in our inventory below. We have tried to make it as detailed as possible to ensure you understand what you spend your money on. The list has all the aspects of an installation, but it only applies to homes that have unfinished basements, never had air conditioners installed, and are within the GTA region.
Most of the prices are constant, but the prices of electric lines and copper lines aren’t. If the electric line needed exceeds 30 ft and the copper line exceeds 25 ft, an extra $1.2 and $10 per foot will be charged.
If you own an older home or you have already finished your basement, we will give you a detailed price list after inspecting the property. We also give separate estimates for air conditioner replacements.
We have also included the installation prices of the air conditioning winter cover and outdoor air conditioning unit on wall brackets in the list.
We also have a sizing guide to help you choose the right unit for your property. Contact us if you need additional help.
Common problems with your Air Conditioner, which can be repaired
1. Refrigerant Leaks
ACs that rely on refrigerants for gas can sometimes leak, putting you and your loved ones at risk of being exposed to the harmful refrigerant. Leaking can reduce the amount of refrigerant and prevent the unit from functioning optimally. Thankfully, such problems don’t usually require the repair of an entire air conditioner system. Call the experts to fix the leak and refill the refrigerant.
Regular inspections of the unit can prevent such leaks or identify them sooner. Our detail-oriented technicians can spot the early warning signs of potential leaks and fix them before they start circulating in your room.
2. Inadequate Maintenance
Failing to maintain your air conditioner regularly can result in many breakdowns. However, most people often think that the problems are because the AC is nearing its lifespan. Avoid being in such a position by having certified personnel inspect the unit regularly. The inspection will help unmask potential problems and keep the AC working properly for a very long time. Maintenance also ensures the unit stays clean, especially the delicate components such as filters and fan motors that can stop working when debris accumulates on them.
3. Electric Control Failure
If you have a smaller or bigger AC, the chances of dealing with frequent electric control failure are very high. When the air conditioner has to overwork to cool down the room, the constant on and off cycles will take a toll on the unit. Electric failure is also common during winter when you leave the AC on day and night, and the extra operation wears out the compressors and fans. The AC can also lose power if the wire terminals rust.
Regardless of the cause, electrical problems aren’t usually easy to fix. In most cases, they are too expensive to repair, or the components get damaged beyond repair. Air Makers Oakville technicians will try to get the AC working again, but you should always know replacement is an option.
4. Contactors and capacitors
An air conditioner consists of several parts that communicate with each other and work together. Contactors and capacitors are some of the essential components that control the flow of electricity to other parts.
If they become defective, the unit will not provide the cooling effect you need in your room because there won’t be a proper electrical flow between all the components, making the unit useless.
These are replaceable, but the job should still be done by professionals. We will check the condition of the capacitors and readjust them if necessary.
5. Drainage Problems
AC units usually have water drainage outlets at the back. The outlets usually become susceptible to clogging if you don’t clean the unit with time. If that happens, your room will have excess moisture from the collected water in the unit, which could become uncomfortable. Your walls may also become stained, or mold may grow because of the humid conditions. The moisture will eventually damage the AC if not rectified.
This problem doesn’t require the services of repair contractors. You can use a wire to remove the clog and get back proper drainage.
However, if the outlet is clean, the problem could be because the AC was not maintained properly on the window. In that case, you will need professionals.
