Learn More About Government Air Conditioner Rebate Programs
The Heating and Cooling Incentive by the IESO (previously aka Ontario Power Authority) is valid throughout 2016 and you will be eligible to receive a rebate of $650 when you replace your existing furnace with a high-efficiency furnace equipped with an Electronically Commutated Motor (ECM) and your central air conditioning unit replaced with an installed 15 SEER central air conditioner. In 2014, the IESO announced its new rebate program for all new installations in new homes, as well. You can also take advantage of the Carrier Cool Cash Rebate and receive up to $1,450 with the purchase and installation of a complete Infinity™ system. If installing a Dave Lennox Signature Series complete home heating and cooling system, you will be eligible to receive up to $1,700 in Lennox rebates.
You are also eligible to receive up to $1,450 from Enbridge, if you save at least 25% on your natural gas consumption rate. You will be eligible for $2,000 from Enbridge, if you can save at least 50% on your gas bill. The Enbridge rebate has no clear deadline and in the past has been stopped without prior notice. So if you have a mid-efficiency furnace, you must take advantage of this rebate as soon as possible. Give us a call and find out how you can easily save over 50%, when you install a high-efficiency furnace.
On July 13, 2011, the Federal Government of Canada renewed the EcoENERGY Retrofit – Homes program that offers grants up to $5,000 to assist homeowners make their homes more energy-efficient. This rebate program, in combination with the Heating & Cooling Incentive program – brought to you by the Ontario Power Authorities – aimed for the homeowners to replace their energy inefficient appliances, such as old furnaces and air conditioners with high-efficiency hvac equipment. These replacements have not only resulted in lower energy consumption – and ultimately lower fuel and hydro bills – they will also correspond to lower emission levels of harmful greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide (products of combustion). While, the IESO’s (OPA’s) Heating and Cooling Incentive program will be valid throughout 2016, the EcoENERGY Retrofit program has long been expired. The Enbridge rebate, however, has provided much incentive in lieu of the EcoENERGY Retrofit program.
